Lately, my partner and I have been using porn videos as a way to spark some new ideas for our own time together. We’ll watch something and then talk about what we liked or what we thought was a bit too “over the top.” It’s been a really fun way to explore our fantasies without any pressure. It’s turned a solitary habit into a shared experience that has actually brought us closer. Have any of you used adult media as a “brainstorming tool” like this, and how did you bring it up with your partner for the first time without things feeling awkward?

We started doing that about a year ago and it’s been a game-changer! The first time I brought it up, I just said something like, “Hey, I saw this interesting scene the other day and it made me think of us.” That simple opening took all the pressure off. Now, it’s a regular part of our communication. It’s not about copying what we see, but just using it as a starting point for our own conversations. It’s made our intimacy feel much more creative and adventurous. I think the key is just to keep it lighthearted and focus on the “us” part of the experience rather than just the screen.

I saw the title of this thread while I was browsing the “Art & Design” sub-forum and was interested in the perspective on creativity. This is a very unique take on the subject! It’s interesting to see how people can take a topic that’s usually seen as very one-dimensional and turn it into a tool for connection and exploration. I’m mostly here to look for some inspiration for my next project, but I enjoyed reading through these posts. It’s a very civil and supportive community you’ve got here, which is rare for the internet. I’m going to go get some work done now, but I hope the conversation stays this positive. Take care!
