Method to Fix Error H202

Method 1: Use the QuickBooks Database Server Manager

If you use the tool hub tool to resolve this error, close the program and follow these steps:

  1. Close the entire program of QuickBooks and install the most recent version of QBtool hub.
  2. When installation is complete, open the tool hub.
  3. Select the window which have a network issue and select the database server manager.
  4. When you open the database server manager, you see two options. If you see the company file, select this and start the scan of company file, if you are not seen the company file browse the company file and select it and start the scan.
  5. When you do this process, it will change the firewall permission.
  6. After this, close the program, and open QuickBooks on the computer which have seen the error code H 202.
  7. You can go for the file and select the multi-user mode.
  8. If it is changed to the multi-user mode, this issue is resolved. 

Method 2: Verify the services of QuickBooks

When your QuickBooks Application indicates the Error H202, check that the QuickBooks services are running in the background properly. Here are the steps to check them:

  1. Go to start 
  2. Type the run 
  3. Press Enter on Service.MSC
  4. Click 2 times on the QuickBooksDBXX listing.
  5. If you are just starting to use this software, go to automatic. 
  6. Change your service status to on or running.
  7. Go to the recovery tab.
  8. Restart the services from this menu: First failure, Second failure, Subsequent failures.
  9. Save these changes.
  10. And repeat this process for QBCFMonitorService.

Method 3: Add the server to the Windows host file

  1. Close the entire QuickBooks application.
  2. Follow this path for the server: C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\Etc.
  3. Click two times on the host file and select Notepad for the program. 
  4. Enter the new IP address of the server.
  5. By using the tab key, you can separate the name and IP address of the server.
  6. Save this and close this.

Method 4: Hosting for Local Files

Follow these steps to check if whether  the hosting of the file is on another client computer:

  1. Open the QuickBooks program.
  2. Press the F2 key and open the product information.
  3. Go to select the hosting.
  4. Here you can see local files under the local server information.
