In a celebration of Bangladesh’s brightest creative minds, motion graphics pioneer Debashis Das has been honored with the “Digital Branding Leader of the Year” title at the Star Bangladesh Award 2025. This coveted recognition, which celebrates innovation, leadership, and artistic excellence in the country’s television and digital branding sectors, was presented to him in a star-studded ceremony at the Central Kachi-Kancha Auditorium in Segunbagicha, Dhaka.
Debashis received the award from none other than beloved film actor Subrata Chakraborty, adding a touch of cinematic glamour to the already grand occasion. The event was chaired by Khandaker Asifur Rahman, the founder and chairman of the Bangladesh Mofossol Sangbadik Society (BMSS), who lauded Debashis’s role in elevating Bangladesh’s visual identity in the digital realm. The recognition comes as no surprise to those who have followed Debashis Das’s journey, marked by two decades of groundbreaking work in visual storytelling, program branding, and design leadership.
The Star Bangladesh Award is known for honoring individuals who have significantly contributed to the nation’s creative and media landscape. For Debashis Das, the “Digital Branding Leader of the Year” title is more than just a personal milestone—it’s an acknowledgment of how digital branding in Bangladesh has evolved under his artistic guidance. From blending traditional aesthetics with modern storytelling to transforming the look and feel of prime-time television, his contributions have defined how Bangladeshi audiences experience visual content today.
Debashis began his professional journey in 2007 at RTV as a motion graphics designer, where he introduced a new visual language that emphasized emotional connection and narrative flow. His work at Jamuna Television brought fresh energy to on-screen branding, and today, as Deputy Manager of Graphics at Maasranga Television, he continues to lead some of the country’s most iconic program designs. His signature style—refined, clean, and rich in cultural nuance—has become a benchmark for quality in the industry.
But Debashis Das’s influence goes beyond design alone. He is a respected educator and mentor, guiding the next generation of motion graphic artists at Pathshala South Asian Media Institute, where he has served as faculty since 2018. He also teaches as a guest faculty member at the University of Dhaka’s Department of Television, Film, and Photography, focusing on storytelling, visual branding, and design psychology. His classes emphasize the balance between technical skill and creative intuition, helping students build a lasting foundation in the craft.
2025 has been a year of exceptional achievement for Debashis. Along with this Star Bangladesh Award, he has also been recognized with the Bongo Gourab Samman (International) in Kolkata and the South Asia Star Award for his leadership in creative branding. Each award underscores his role not only as a leader in the national design scene but as a respected name across South Asia.
His accomplishments don’t stop at broadcasting and education. Debashis has also made his mark in publishing, having designed over 200 book covers for acclaimed Bangladeshi authors. In recent years, he has added wellness to his creative repertoire, conducting yoga and meditation seminars that promote mental health in high-pressure creative environments. For Debashis, a healthy mind is the cornerstone of creativity—a philosophy he shares both in his work and his teaching.
The Star Bangladesh Award 2025 for “Digital Branding Leader of the Year” is not just a trophy for Debashis Das. It’s a national tribute to his vision, resilience, and ability to transform Bangladesh’s digital storytelling. With each new project, each lesson shared, and each award won, Debashis continues to inspire a generation of creatives to dream boldly and design fearlessly.
